PH EMBASSY HONORS RIZAL’S IDEALS, LEGACY AND MARTYRDOM, IN FLAG RAISING CEREMONY

Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig led the officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore and its attached agencies in commemorating the 128th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal in a simple flag-raising ceremony. This year’s Rizal Day celebration is under the theme: “Rizal sa Bagong Pilipinas: Buhay at Aral, Aming Nilalandas”.

PHILIPPINES TURNS OVER LEADERSHIP BATON OF COUNTER-TERRORISM INFORMATION FACILITY TO SINGAPORE

The Philippines successfully concluded its one-year tenure at the helm of the Counter-Terrorism Information Facility (CTIF) at Changi Naval Base in Singapore. This leadership role, assumed on 31 January 2024 from LTC Mohamad Heikal bin Mohamad Hairi of Malaysia, signifies the Philippines’ dedication to regional security and counter-terrorism efforts.

In a formal Change of Leadership Ceremony held this morning, CDR Ronnie G. Nagal PN, who took over the CTIF Head position from Colonel Joel F. Castro PA, in June 2024, officially handed over the leadership responsibilities to his Singaporean counterpart, LTC Derek Teo, current CTIF Chief of Staff, who will now spearhead the CTIF as its new Head, beginning today, 20 December 2024.

PHILIPPINES JOINS MIGRANTS DAY CELEBRATION IN SINGAPORE

The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, led by Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig, together with its attached agencies, namely Migrant Workers Office-Singapore, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-Singapore, SSS-Singapore and Pag-IBIG Singapore, joined the International Migrant Workers Day Celebration in Singapore held on Sunday, 15 December 2024 at Jurong Lake Gardens.

ASEAN GALA 2024: A NIGHT OF CULTURE AND FESTIVITIES

Embassies and High Commissions of the ASEAN Member States in Singapore, including the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, gathered at the ASEAN Gala Night held at the Grand Ballroom of the Orchard Hotel on 10 December 2024, with the theme “ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience.”

Preparations for the Gala Night were led by the Embassy of Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), the ASEAN Chair for 2024.

PH EMBASSY LAUNCHES BOOK FEATURING STORIES OF TRAILBLAZING FILIPINO ENTREPRENEURS IN SINGAPORE

The Philippine Embassy proudly launched the printed version of its book entitled “Making a Mark on The Little Red Dot: Trailblazing Filipino Entrepreneurs in Singapore” on 4 December 2024 at the Ambassador’s Official Residence. The launch was attended by the book’s subjects, writers and other key Embassy personnel who were instrumental in publishing the book.

The book features the life-stories of twenty-five Filipinos who have not only excelled and succeeded as entrepreneurs in Singapore, but have literally blazed new trails in the field of entrepreneurship, including in the business, trade, industry, green and sustainability, social, culinary, health and lifestyle, cultural and education, as well as digital and online fields.
