13 April 2021 – Transcelestial Technologies, a Singapore-based tech start-up, has expressed its interest to collaborate with the Philippine government in improving the country’s internet connectivity using a new and cost-effective technology.

This was conveyed to Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Joseph del Mar Yap by Dr. Mohammad Danesh, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Transcelestial Technologies and Mr. Rachit Gaurav and Ms. Laurel Toh, business development heads of the company when they paid a call on the ambassador on 13 April 2021.

Founded in 2016, Transcelestial Technologies enjoys the support of Enterprise Singapore, Economic Development Board and SG Innovate (an organization fully-owned by the SG government supporting deep technology), among others.

The company aims to accelerate global internet distribution using wireless laser technology especially to far-flung areas where the internet is out of reach.

Ambassador Yap welcomed the proposal of Transcelestial Technologies. He expressed optimism that increased reliance on the internet connectivity brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and access to fast and more cost-effective internet technology would greatly benefit many Filipino communities living in the areas of the country without access to the internet currently.
