PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR LAUDS EFFORTS OF THE SEVENTY-ONE (71) OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS (OFWS) WHO GRADUATED FROM THE ATENEO OF-LIFE PROGRAM

On Sunday, 25 April 2021, Ambassador Joseph del Mar Yap graced the graduation ceremony of batches 92, 93 and 94 of the  Ateneo Overseas Filipinos’ Leadership, Innovation, Financial Literacy & Social Entrepreneurship Program (Ateneo OF-LIFE) which was held virtually and jointly celebrated in Singapore and Japan.

In his inspirational speech, Ambassador Yap cited the importance of lifelong learning and personal development for OFWs. He lauded their perseverance in finishing the 12-session course, which was designed to enhance the leadership and social entrepreneurship skills of its participants. The Ambassador also emphasized to the graduates that as a global Filipino, they can take an active part in steering our country towards post-pandemic recovery.

 Under the umbrella of the Ateneo School of Government (ASoG), the Ateneo OF-LIFE (formerly Ateneo Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Program) is a certificate course that aims to transform the mindset of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families by providing them with basic skills on Leadership, Social Innovation, Financial Literacy, and Social Entrepreneurship. The program has been offered in12 countries worldwide.

To date, a total of 407 overseas Filipinos in Singapore have graduated from the Ateneo OF-LIFE program which was first introduced to the community in 2016. END
