Filipino Designers Showcased at Singapore Fashion Week

30 October 2017 – Three (3) talented fashion designers – Albert Andrada, Mimi Parrel Pimentel and Steffy de Mylo – were among those featured during the Asia Fashion Designers Showcase at Singapore Fashion Week (SGFW) last 27 October held at the National Gallery.

Albert Andrada is known for designing the iconic blue gown of Pia Wurtzbach when she won the 2015 Miss Universe title. Mimi Parrel Pimentel is a Cagayan de Oro-based designer who created the barong worn by President Rodrigo R. Duterte with the Philippine flag embroidered on it during his oath-taking. Steffy de Mylo is a young Davao-based fashion designer.

SGFW, which ran from 26 to 28 October 2017, is a high-profile fashion event that features established and emerging regional and homegrown designers and labels alongside iconic international designers. For this year, SGFW showcased international designer Jason Wu.
